Getting your mind right all day for sleep makes the night go smoother.
Mindspace FAQS
Why am I exhausted but still wake up in the middle of the night?
It could be one or more of the following:
Your mind is still running with electricity and heat from doing work
You haven’t tied up some mental loose ends before going to bed.
You have stimulants still in your system.
What does it take so long for me to fall asleep?
One reason could be a lack of adenosine release, which happens with energy expenditure. Adenosine starts releasing into your bloodstream in the morning and builds up your sleepiness factor by dark.
Another reason could be spending too much time in bed doing other things besides sleep. Do what you can to avoid your bed, i.e., not eating, doing work, watching TV in it until it’s actually bedtime.
Does napping help or hurt my sleep at night?
Napping is a great way to reset your brain and get more energy to finish out your day. Limit it to 20 minutes so that you don’t trick your body into thinking you’re going into restorative sleep.
Why do I think of all the bad things when I go to bed?
It’s not just you; there’s some science behind it. Recent studies suggest that being alone and awake in bed past midnight somehow triggers your brain into processing negative events.
